Installing a licence to idata 2

Installing a Licence

Prerequisites

We start this topic with a clean iData instance installation completedWe have no requirement for projects or data connectivity defined within iData

Introduction

One of the first things you will want to do in iData is to install a licence.

Licences are available from the IDS sales channels or from your channel partner.

The first step it to log onto the portal.

We press logon in to get to the login screen.

If this is your very first time signing on, you’ll need to use the installation administrator credentials. Here we a have previously signed in and set up a new administrator.

Once we have signed in you will notice a warning in the top of our screen. This is to remind us that we have no licence applied.

If there is no valid licence applied, you will be taken directly to the licence screen, otherwise we can navigate there from the administration menu, and licencing.

This screen shows us that we have no licenced features available in this instance.

The licence is generated for a specific computer instance. We identify each instance by a unique machine identifier created on the installation.

Selecting the machine ID from the here, we can now send this to our channel partner or support to generate a licence file for us.

Once we have received our licence file we apply it on this screen.

Select a file, navigate to the supplied licence file, and submit.

Once the licence is applied the screen will update with the accepted duration of the features enabled.
